One of my kids wants to make and sell bees wax candles.
I up for sponsoring his endeavors,  but after pricing it, I won't be buying off the rack gear.

I've got some ideas for tempature controled dipping vessels, but I could use your input.
On the large end I was thinking of a giant stock pot set into the bottom half of an electric water heater.
On the small end, a bain marie pot or  small stock pot set into a Presto Kitchen Kettle.

The racks seem simple enough,  as long as you are not planning to dip n' flip
I'm thinking of bicycle rims and binderclips on the large end of the scale.
I can even see a counter weighted arm to assist lifting...
For the smaller scale set up, scrap plywood with careful cuts in it should be enough.

For weights, I'm thinking more binder clips, to save on  the tying of wicks, but commercial sold dipping racks  have two sets of arms and gold the wick in-between, so I might try that.

I'm considering a cool water dip tank or a mister to speed up times between dips.

William, did you ever get any info/experience with these ideas? I have always wanted to make beeswax dip candles and am wondering how well your ideas would work, they sound pretty brilliant!

Here's another product your son could make. I think it's easier than candles. Have heard they are more profitable than candles too.

I agree. Here's the link: http://stoves2.com
