Dropped this into a playlist this morning. REM cures what ails you:

Also learned about this cheesy yacht-rock jam. Has a catchy hook and ridiculous lyrics:

For long stretches in the car first thing in the morning, I listen to a lot of music like this:

Once I've woken up for the day, it's typically old skool punk and thrash, or DEVO.

Music in the car distracts me now but when I was a teenager I blasted it full volume. Since then I've spent many miles riding motorcycles & flying airplanes. Those require full concentration. Staying alive. It's a thing. There are some great car songs & a few good motorcycle songs. Most of the airplane songs are too lame for my taste. I'd rather listen to aircraft engines as music & sometimes do. Here's a short one from a beautiful instrument. Beware it drops an F bomb. Then a couple good songs about cars. Followed by some tunes to enjoy on the way to outer space & the final voyage. Enjoy.

Listen to the sweet music 1700 flying horses make. Enough energy in this Janis performance to travel to the sun. Buckle up because she lets it loose.

I often drive around in my nice redneck looking truck, with Pink Floyd playing my favorite of theirs, "Free Four" off of the album Obscured by Clouds. It's a fun contrast!

And a Pink Floyd song that paints lovely pictures in my head... Julia Dream, which was released as the B side of a 45 .

Don't listen to Steve. Just read this tiny ad:
