My two types of snake plants keep on dividing and the pots get crowded quickly. How can I get them to grow tall but not more new shoots? They are the straight type not birdnest. Thanks.

That's easier to try than the other way round. I guess I will keep it pot bound too. When a plant is happy it wants to make babies.

This is the tallest snake plant I have seen. As tall as an adult!
(Seach sewing pattern review and snake plant you will find it)

I am wondering if the light direction also matters since the tip of a leaf is the meristem. Break tge tip and that leaf won't grow any more. My plants have some direct sunlight in the morning, at a low angle. The tips usually get less light when thd pots are on the shelf or underneath a table. I have two moonshine snake plants of similar sizes so I am going to test the idea out over the winter.
