Hi Everyone.  I'm super new to Permaculture.  Last spring we purchased a forclosed ranch in the Spokane area. The front 10acres are all hillside and we hope to have an orchard/garden there. I'm sold on Sepp Holzer's ideas, but feel too new to permaculture to plan this kind of garden at this scale on our property. I'm wondering if there is anyone in this area with permaculture experience who would be available for hire to help us design a plan to terrace, and even include some ponds or swales on this acreage. Any help is appreciated as I spend free time reading all the amazing info on this site.

We live in your region, on Vancouver Island, and our situation is exactly the same as yours (large property, new to all this). I've recently been in touch with Terra Phoenix Design about helping us with our property. They are permaculture designers and consultants and just also happen to be a spin-off business of the famous Bullock Brothers of Orcas Island (Doug Bullock is one of the head designers).

I was thrilled to find them, as one couldn't ask for more knowledge or expertise for our unique climate and region.

Thank you LBBloomer!  I will look into this company to see what they would recommend. I'm hoping for some one local. What a gorgeous place you live!!

For east-side consider Michael 'Skeeter' Pilaski.  http://www.friendsofthetrees.net/. ; He might be able to refer.

Thanks Paul! What an interesting site.

So you made a portal in time and started grabbing people. This tiny ad thinks that's rude:
