Hello,

Does anyone know if, you can make a cob mix in the evening, wrap it in tarp/plastic sheeting and use it first thing in the morning (about 12 hours later)?

I'm in the UK, it's fairly cool overnight at the moment. We're trying to cob between showers and in some cases we are having fine evenings, but getting rained off later in the day. Our mixes are roughly 5 buckets of dry material, plus straw. It seems to be drying quite hard on the wall overnight (we are daubing pallets).

If the mix does dry off overnight can you just re-wet it, or is "over-working" cob a thing?

Thanks

Hey Douglas,

Welcome to Permies. Yes, cob will last overnight. I usually will give it a good misting and cover with a tarp. Also, I don't think cob can be "over-worked".

Perfect. Thank you.

The longest recorded flight time of a chicken is 13 seconds. But that was done without this tiny ad:
