As per Paul's direction I want to report a possible glitch.

When I am trying to use the "Report" button on the site, after typing into the box that pops up and hit "OK" I am getting the error message attached to this post.
I have tried all the remedies suggested in the error but nothing worked.
The "Contact us" link is directed to the "Contact us, contact Paul, contact staff...", where Paul suggested I post this here.

It might be a setting on my computer, or that I am not eligible to use that function?

I would appreciate some insight on this.

Thank you, kindly

Operating system?
Browser?
Mobile or desktop view?
Link to thing you are trying to report?
Character string (words) you are inputting into the box?

Win 10 Home

I don't know how to link a post, I can only link a thread, but that wouldn't help.
The characters are regular characters no special ones, and a URL

Thank you, Jeremy.
So I guess it means that the problem is on my side.
Do you think it's an issue with my computer settings?
Or is it something about my permies.com account?
What would be your suggestion?

Thanks, r, that's a very helpful link.

To answer your question about the view I have to make some assumptions: if phones and tablets qualify as mobile and everything else is desktop, then desktop. ( I work on a laptop which for some purposes is different from a desktop)

Here is the link to the post: https://permies.com/t/212368/Owners-give-grid-development-Month#1791667

I do not want to publicly disclose the words, as I am not trying to embarrass anyone or turn this post into a discussion about my report. If I understand it correctly the reason there is a "report" button is to have those concerns be addressed not publicly.
The words I am typing in the box are like this "kjhf iooiy98 lkhiojoij  sdfsdfsd ssdfefw (then a URL like this) https://permies.com/t/212368/Owners-give-grid-development-Month#1791667, kjhdkshaku90 dsvskld ekhfebfooopads lksdfjslj"

If the exact words are really necessary to be published here, in order to solve the problem, please confirm that and I will do so.
Thank you

I can't see a known bug with that post that would cause the error message I'm seeing.

The next most likely is what you typed.   It's limited to what it can process. It could be your keyboard has international characters or something else wonky with how the system is reading it.

Please pm me ONLY the string of characters you put in the box.

Got it.

I suspect that it's too long.  Please try a test by reporting this post with a single short sentence to see if this is the issue.

You were right. I think the shorter message went through.
At least I didn't get an error message.
Do you know what is the character limit? Although I am hoping this was the first and last time using it.

I have no idea the character limit.  All I know it's for short reports that staff can read quickly and the main conversation about moderation is here in the Tinkering With This site forum.

From an insider perspective - a hint.  We are all volunteers here. The more respectful of volunteer time, the quicker it is to find a solution.  Long complaints or asking the same thing over and over again, tend to get passed over for things that are easier to deal with.

I suspect the programmers kept the limit fairly short to be respectful of the volunteers' time.

Yeah. What he said. Totally. Wait. What? Sorry, I was looking at this tiny ad:
