Hi there!!

We are a christian family of 3 with 10 acres of land and 2 acres completely cleared in South Carolina. I lived overseas for 16 years and then moved to Arizona for 10 years. It has always been my dream to have a homestead or at the least a beautiful garden. We had gardens growing up and I have had gardens here and there, over the years of living overseas and in Arizona. It was unexpected to move back to the east coast so soon, especially since we had great jobs and were enjoying life in Arizona. Unfortunately, my father passed and my mom obviously was devastated and asked if I would move back. So we had to make some serious decisions and be willing to make some sacrifices. In four months, we prepared and sold our home and I moved back home after not living in the east for 28 years. It was a crazy adventure and there was a lot of adjusting.

I homeschool my 9 year old daughter, which I absolutely love doing! She previously attended a private school, I worked a lot and my husband would always pick her up from school. After 3 months of moving, she said to me, "Mom, I'm so happy, I get to spend everyday with you, now that you're not working anymore". It broke my heart and at the same time brought happy tears. Her and I built on to the beautiful garden my dad had already created and now it's quite large. I knew that if I could create something this rewarding, then I can create this on a homestead as well.

Now that the land is cleared, we plan to start building the fence. There are a lot of wild pigs on the land and I know all to well from living in Arizona how the javelina like to get into things. I have started propagating a lot of plants, (all of which are edible and/or medicinal) that I have in preparation for getting our food forest started and I don't want to transplant anything until the fence is up. We have planted several fruit trees along the driveway, but have quite a few more, just waiting to plant. I know how much hard work it takes to begin and keep up with a homestead and love all the challenges and learning curves that come with it. We are seeking hard working individuals/family to be a part of our homestead. It is just the beginning, and we want to share it with others. The possibilities are endless, including wanting to build a nice size pond. Message me if you would like to create this adventure with us.

Blessings

Hello again,

It is showing that I have one reply; however, I am not seeing one.

I'm not sure why, but it would be nice to see.

Perhaps, I'm doing something wrong, but it doesn't seem like it should be that complicated.

An RV or the like on the land is welcome, as long as you don't need hookups just yet. We will be working on that soon. My email is larayah11@hotmail.com. I don't want to give exact locations on here, so please contact me by email. Looking forward to speaking more about the details via email and we can proceed from there.

Thanks so much!

Hi, I sent you an email, but also wanted to post on here.  We're looking for land in Upstate South Carolina (Pickens / Oconee counties), but it's proving difficult given our budget and other requirements so far.  We are looking for a place to park our RV and enjoy community and help with homesteading / permaculture, natural building, etc while we continue the search.

Hi there, my family is also looking for a permie community and a home and land in the upstate SC or across the line in GA. We are selling our homestead in Brevard to go down over the mountains and get out of the mountain winters and expensive tourist town.

My husband is a blacksmith and needs a workshop with plenty of power. He has a background in forestry and outdoor Ed.

I like to manage food forests and am eager to start growing mushrooms.

We have a three year old who likes to eat chickweed!

Also, we found a hay farm on Grier Creek road in Oconee county (I think) it is sectioning off essentially organic land that would make for perfect mini farms or homesteads. Let's check it out together. We could be independent neighbors and build natural homes cooperatively.
