Lawn vs. Heron bird poop

My front lawn is under a tree which is the home of some of our local Herons.  The bird poop has killed many of the plants that I have tried to grow there, even the grass.  Is there anything that I could plant that would flourish with the constant rain of poop from the 4-5 Herons living in this tree?

Do you know what variety of grass you have?

Are you mowing high?

Do you have access to lots of sawdust?

No, I don't know what kind of grass I have, there are more weeds than anything and some clover.  It's so rough that I rarely mow it, I sometimes just rake the soil or I just weed whack it, hmmm sawdust?  I don't have any access to it, but I haven't looked into how I would find some, so I don't know how readily available it is.  What would sawdust do?

I'm surprised there is clover.

Have the birds been using this tree as a popping spot for years and years?

The sawdust would counter the smell and the excess fertilizer of the poop.  Thus making it easier for the grass.

Grass is quite the nitrogen (fertilizer) pig, so I would think that the grass would be tall and thick there.

Some grasses are sensitive and some grasses don't do well with shade.  Tall fescue can cope.  It could be an option, but let's wait on that for now.

Can you post pictures?

There is a huge Heron nest in this tree that they have been using for at least 10 years.  There's so much bird poop that every week the sidewalk under the tree in front of my house has to be hosed down, they also occasionally drop their fish on the way home/here from the river. The clover is closer to the house and not right under the tree.
I'll try and get some pictures, recently I pulled up the azaleas that I'd planted months ago because the bird poop (apparently) had killed them.
Thanks for your time, I've been here two years and it seems impossible to keep my front yard looking half-way decent, but then the birds are more important then having a lawn.
I actually hate mowing, which is why I have the weed whacker, which is much more fun.  I've bought some landscape fabric and considered just covering the lawn up, (it's about 10 feet by 30 feet) and then just putting down wood chips or whatever and have plant pots that I can move.
But that's a lot of work, it's a dilemma.
Again thanks for your time.
