Hi Brendan -

Can you tell if this thing has 8 legs or 6? When I first looked I thought 8 (and so, a spider). Now I'm not so sure. Do you think we're seeing parts of legs way in the front? That would make 8.

Let me know your thoughts.

What I think we are seeing is six legs and antennae. My first thought was spider too, but those far "legs" look a little too wimpy to me. Then again whaddoIknow! Sorry it took me a few days to respond. Been swamped!

I wish you had a couple more pics but many insects have many stages they go threw before they reach adulthood so its possible that its a bug that you have seen before just not in its adult form

When someone throws dirt on you shake it off and take a step forward.
