I know comfrey grows wild in my area and I am trying to figure out how to identify it. I found some plants that have leaves close to comfrey but I cant tell if its comfrey or not, can anyone tell from the pictures? Is there an easy way that I can identify wild comfrey?
Thank you for your help!

That's some kind of dock (Rumex), perhaps common yellow dock. An important medicinal in its own right, but not comfrey. Comfrey is not common in the wild in most places, and the leaves are coarsely downy, a bit like a squash leaf only finer. They are shaped sort of like the dock leaves and the plant does have a similar habit. Flowers are different though......You can probably google an image or two of it so as to have it in mind.....
It's still a good dynamic accumulator. I have a volunteer patch in a low, moist, shady spot of my yard that I harvest leaves from every few weeks for compost.
This is a picture of wild comfrey plants that grow in abundance by the river on my land. 9 out of 10 plants have purple flowers, while remaining one's flowers are white with just a touch of purple.
I hope it helps.
