Mugs and Tshirts

As I was shopping for mugs, I kept coming across "our mugs are compliant with the new california laws about food ceramics!" - the more I read, the more creeped out I got. How bad was it that they had to make a law? What happened? Do I have stuff in my cupboard right now that could be making me sick? Are my current health problems somehow related to my favorite mug?

I did the, uh .... "artwork" ... myself. I tried to get help from people with actual artistic ability, but while waiting for replies to my emails I came up with this idea. It took me a full day to make this, and then it had to be done over again for the mug which took another full day. The t-shirt took another full day. If you look closely, you can see all sorts of obnoxious bits from the forums.
