Lif,

The book was released a few weeks ago.

My co-author, shawn, came to my place and together we signed a bunch of copies.   I still have a few.

This is my first time being an author.   I suppose a signed copy sells for more than a regular copy.   What is the norm for something like this?

You placed your order five minutes ago.

Sometime tomorrow morning you will most likely get a tracking number and that should have a delivery date estimate.

I have had something similar happen to me for no reason. I ordered off Amazon. I even did a signature waiver and said just leave it on the porch. But for some reason they claimed I was not home, so they forwarded it to a Walgreen dropoff/pickup location. Luckily I was super excited and checking online, otherwise they were going to return it back to the sender. It was a very weird experience.

Hello Permies (Paul Wheaton?),

I think that I just ordered the book, even though PayPal told me that I would have a chance to review on "Permies" before I purchased it. Then, when I was sent to your website I got the message that it is a pre-order. Now I am very confused. Can someone let me know if I did in fact buy the book?

Thank you.

I am seeing that you ordered "permies premium 122611 (Building a Better World in Your Backyard - physical book)" and I see the request for shipment (reply to that email if you have any address changes).

Everything seems right as rain.  There is a good chance that the book will be in the mail in a few minutes.

Hmmm ...  i suppose i could try to do a one off custom order.

Current overseas for one book is $38

Current overseas for 12 books is $175

I think the shipping cost for one book is something in the $25 to $30 range.  And the shipping for 12 books is something around $75 to $100.  And it is a weird thing where there is a line where once the weight/size crosses that line, it becomes $75 to $100.

Ugh ...  so this becomes a huge project of trying to guess what the shipping cost would be - because that's the lions share of it.

Dontchya just wanna get a dozen books and call it good?

12 books arrived Friday.  Thanks to the staff for getting them out so quickly.  Next step is to get them out into the wider world such as local libraries.

Ordered a copy today. Can't wait to get it, paper is more satisfying than digital.

I am ordering this book to be sent to another person who happens to be in prison.  I was never asked where the book should be shipped and I cannot send it from me.  It must come from the buyer to him.  How do I fix this?
