This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Natural Medicine.

(Image from: marksvegplot.blogspot.com)

For this badge bit, you will create a comfrey leaf poultice.
- Make a journal page about a recipe for comfrey leaf poultice along with dosage information.
- Make comfrey leaf poultice, with pictures of it being made, and of it being finished.

Optional:
- Make a journal page about the uses and attributes and how to ID and how to grow comfrey leaf. Add it to the herb section.

Here are some links and videos to guide you in researching comfrey leaves and in creating your poultice:

To document this BB, post pictures or a 2-minute video depicting the following:
Your journal page about your recipe and dosage information for comfrey leaf poultice
Your comfrey leaves being harvested
Your poultice in mid-preparation
Your completed poultice

Optional:
Your journal page about the attributes of comfrey leaf

My husband hurt his knee so it is time to try the comfrey poultice.   I debated the use of the small electric mixer instead of a mortar/pestal but decided that if I needed a back hoe to build my first huglebed then I could use the mixer.  I also decided to create a dedicated rag system to keep large enough cloth lengths for the poultice to wrap around the knee.
