This is the first I have heard of this.

What is your environment?  What is your browser and OS?

I went to the bottom of it, and as it turns out my environment does not allow UDP traffic so that was the reason why vimeo streaming was impossible as the player streams in UDP. The previous video i watched on vimeo was not on my environment but on an rogue/isolated computer with windows i happened to have here at the time.

I'm working around my limitations, but as a lone user request, if you could provide things via youtube i would be a happier user :)

How is it looking now please?

João Carneiro wrote:Hi Paul, this is the third video of the series.

The first one i saw was hosted on vimeo, had to reduce the quality to 360p to get it working without pulling my hair out. It was justin rhodes 45min video.

the second one was hosted on youtube, whent OK, no problem at all. it was care for RMH.

this third one hosted on vimeo claims i have an unsupported viewing environment, so things aren't getting better.

would really appreciate if you could resolve this problem.

best regards,

JC

Using Opera browser (fairly tightly locked down) I got the same message. Switch to FireFox (pretty much wide open) and the video worked fine.

Tell me about your internet connection.   Do you watch youtube?  Do you watch netflix?

I ask because I wonder if your internet connection is a lot slower than average and that could be the root of the issue.

I am using chrome on a linux mint laptop and it works for me.  And I know that it is working for lots of people.  So let's see if we can figure this out.

Your mint comes with firefox - any difference with that?

I'm running mint 18.3 - what version are you running?

Hi, Mark.  I use Brave also and have seen that message on many other websites.  Usually when this happens I simply copy the site's URL and paste it into an Internet Explorer window.  It's an extra step and goes against the reason I use Brave to begin with, but I figure no harm no foul for a video.  You may or may not be willing to do the same, but I wanted you to know that you're not alone here.

So is this a case of brave and vimeo don't like each other?

In my experience, it's not just vimeo as it has happened for youtube videos also.  I suspect the underlying issue is Brave's privacy settings.  The user can opt to allow cookies for these sites and the video will play.  I generally don't wish to do so, however.

Hi Paul,

It turns out that Brave browser is the culprit: Firefox runs the video fine; I tried to find which setting in Brave might be causing this for anyone having the same problem but didn't succeed so far...I will post if I do.

Thank you all for the help.

I just re-watched this great little video.  Is there a thread with newer pictures and or video of the two featured hugelkultur beds? It would be great to have updates each growing season to show how much has changed.

Thanks, Justin

I just watched the microdoc. Cool stuff. I really want to see a follow-up. It's 7 years since this was posted, those hugels should be very different now and I really want to see in what way. I'm having trouble finding good pictures of mature thriving hugelkulturs and I think those will be useful for encouraging the process. My thread on topic - https://permies.com/t/169034/Abundant-verdant-Hugelculture-pictures-Hugelculture

Edit: And of course I somehow missed Paul's reply directly above this post... Adding that thread the links in mine.
