I've just built a modified rabbit tractor I'm calling the rabbit sled. Buy essentially the divided mesh area sits just above the ground in between two solid wood hutches so they have the option to sit and graze between the wire or to hangout in their hutch. I'm noticing that even though they tripped a bit a first. They soon adjusted and now prefer to rest on the wire. Even when they have easy access to a solid basd hutch with ample bedding, ventilation and space (2x3 floor space) they both prefer their individual wire floors. I think it may have to do with the fact the breeze is cool on their stomachs and they don't have to move to poop or graze. So it maximizes their ability to be lazy. These are rabbits that I previously had on a solid floor as well, but I wanted to convert their hutch into the breeding shed so they got an upgrade with a choice.
