Oh my Travis to many close calls for comfort! It is dangerous work. I agree that having a back up plan and a back up backup plan is very important it is not good to be taken off guard, yet it is almost impossible to account for every possibility. I like that you trusted your instinct. I think that is one of the biggest mistakes someone can make if your gut tells you something I would follow it. Many times I have ignored it only to be reminded that my intuition knows best.

I like the hydraulic splitters with the chainsaw to cut it up first then split into smaller pieces. But the price tag is definitely the deciding factor there. How much do I really like it? Not enough right now...

We flooded the basement in our old home as well with a poorly designed rain catching barrel. the flooding wasnt bad but definitely not good. Our solution was to bring a drain pipe off the top, similar to the spout you have at the bottom but running off the side near the top, that would flow away from the house when the barrel was full. cheap and easy solution.

This looks amazing! I would buy a ticket in a heartbeat if I had not just started a new business. I read that you might stream it online I would be very interested in that if you do end up making it available online!

Your ducks are so cute we have been raiding chickens for a few years now but are in the process of switching over to ducks. Your pictures have us so excited!

I have always been a fan of peeing outside, we have a septic system and I never did feel good about it just going into the drainage field so i started peeing out in the garden.. or anywhere that could use the extra nutrients. I think it has helped a few of the struggling plants out. at least I would like to think so. I had a hard time convincing my wife to do this though. She was not a fan of the squat also not as discrete for her and we do live by a fairly busy road so I dont blame her. we set up a five gallon bucket with a toilet seat lid mounted for her to pee into we dilute it with water and use in to fertilize.
