Paul, thanks for all the info. Some of the wikipedia references are a little scary, but when you're getting bitten by fleas every day, you start to worry about authenticity of facts a lot less! So we've been battling fleas for about a month now. I wish I'd seen your article when we first discovered them because like many folks, I started by running to the nearest Home Depot and buying foggers. It ended up being 100% non effective that I could see. I then read all the wonderful reviews of fleabusters powder. I ordered that, spent 8 hours spreading it all over my home, waited a week, saw no diminished adult flea activity, in fact, it seemed a little escalated, and returned to the computer where I found your review. I had already ordered the DE since I read from several other sufferers that a two pronged approach, boric acid powder and DE, was preferable to one or the other so that came yesterday and I promptly applied it all over my home. Last night I set up two of the flea trap lights you showed and to my dismay, found 15 in one of them and 14 in the other. A lot more than I wanted to find, I can tell you that! So I guess I am in this for the long haul and have done all the things like flea combing the pets every day, DE everywhere, and until I put the DE down, a LOT of vacuuming with a new bag every time. If anyone here has any other ideas for me, let me know. Until then, I'll be scratching in Utah. Which was said to be pretty much flea free. But we've had a lot of rain this year and I have an evaporative cooler which adds moisture to the air in my home. Providing the ideal flea incubator. Ugh.
