I picked up a flea in the park. Maybe picked up more. Then went on vacation and came home to many many visitors. I did the, sorry to say, bombs to get rid of them. But I am tired. Tired of washing my clothes (the
fleas are in the living room and bedroom), tired of leaving the house for 4 hours, etc. So I am gonna try
DE - it just came in. However, about a week ago, the situation has improved. Well I think it has.
I read on this site that putting a desk lamp over a plate with soapy
water will
kill fleas. And that it is a good way of monitoring the fleas. The problem that I have with doing the test is that my flea problem is in the only two areas that I can sleep. So I can only test on area at a time. First time in the living room resulted in 4 fleas. Since then, it has gone down to 2, 1 or even none! The bedroom has given the same results - usually one or none. So my first question is, can I assume that my problem is almost over?
My second question is how many
should this trick be getting? In other words, can it be that only some are attracted to the light and I have 100's more hiding in the corner?
My third question is recently I have been waking up and having none in the dish. Yay! However, I just turn the light off, since I am doing the trick in the night. Twice, I walked past the dish and there was a flea in it. Today, none in the tray, when I came home, 9 hours later, 2 in the dish. Is this typically?
Sorry for the length of this. I really need this to be over, and am afraid that I won't see the true situation. I have two cats that have been saying with my dad. I am not comfortable bringing them home with this. The other test that I do is monitoring the bites on me. I haven't had any in a week.
Oh, and thanks for recommending this test....it makes me want to get a lab coat!
