Today was fun! I got to dig clay for more cob and mix up a big drum of clay slip with Fred. Fred is very conscientious about conserving resources, so making the clay slip involves a lot of mixing, washing, and screening so that no clay, water, or rocks are wasted (which I really appreciate). He’s very knowledgeable and fun to work with, too.

Yesterday we worked at the Abbey in the morning and finished the patio (for now) at Base Camp in the afternoon. There are plans to remove the decks and expand the patio in the future.

Sifting sand for cob; I throw shovels full of rocky sand at these screens and nice sand comes out the back. I can do it for more than fifteen minutes without needing to use my shovel as a crutch and wheeze now.

In Missoula, planning to pick Jeremy up at the airport and take him to the grocery store this evening. Ran errands earlier and helped my mom with some stuff, then walked around looking at some of the art, sculpture, and gardens around town, then decided to hit up Bernice’s Bakery for one of the amazing lavender cupcakes that Coco introduced me to.

I now own flatware, and no longer have to eat my oatmeal with a stick in the morning because I keep forgetting to beg Jocelyn for some. Thanks Mom, and whoever left the fork on the windowsill by the Dumpster!
