Hey Big AL, the rally was good, but i was even happier to see your post, i wish there was some way to get people aware how fragile this planet really is.
yeah, ok, the planet itself isn't going anywhere, and people make fun of that statement without taking the meaning to heart. maybe the planet will be here, but we won't
Anyway, it's late and I'm tired, i will put this up here as a reference, but if there are any people viewing this who want to write a letter (not an email)
this is where it goes
Chairman Cheryl A. LaFleur

Energy Regulatory Commission

There are guidelines to writing the letter to make it more effective, and i will try and put something more together for tomorrow. in the meantime, try this link
http://www.friendsofbuckinghamva.org/?page_id=66
also, before you send the letter you will need the docket number of the case so while this is a time sensitive thing, it will be better to wait for a docket number to be issued and then flood the office as soon as the docket number comes out
I have two drafts of my letter, when i get some sleep that will be a number one job tomorrow, print out a final letter, address and stamp an envelope, and be ready to write the docket number and put it in the mail right away, maybe as soon as monday
Ultimately this isn't just about a pipeline, and it's not about my backyard, because i'm probably out of the way of the pipeline and nowhere near the marcellus shale.
It's because a for
profit business can suddenly confiscate property for "the public good" (when the public is just being screwed for
profit), where does it stop.
And
the answer is that it doesn't. If people sit idly by and watch others have their forests and farms and livlihoods destroyed, what wealth will industry find next for the "public good" in your backyard?
you know what they said- If we don't hang together, we shall surely hang separately
so post your pipeline fight here so i can write a letter for yours as well, hopefully it will wait till tomorrow
I'm working on getting pictures of Pennsylvania's state forests in ruins--allowed by a governor bought and paid for by natural gas. That is what they will do to The George Washington National Forest, and that is one of the very real reasons every American has an interest in stopping this pipeline
