We need volunteers in tropical Ecuador

Hello Permies,

We have a food forest that includes a native rainforest, thriving with life. Our project is focused on obtaining self-sufficiency and managing a beautiful piece of forest. We are currently processing Cacao into chocolate, working on a new veggie garden with heirloom seeds, building low-impact housing and planting native tree species into open areas of the forest. As with any homestead, especially one in the early stages, the tasks are diverse and interesting. We are a young family that have realized the hard way, that its a big learning curve and simply too much for us to manage alone. We can provide accommodation and partial food that is all organic, in exchange for help on the finca. If you have experience in permaculture design and reforestation, that would be a bonus. Also individuals with building experience and a positive, enthusiastic personality. Although we will gladly accept volunteers without experience, that have a strong desire to be the change you want to see in the world. Our location is minutes from the ocean on the coast of esmeraldas. A beautiful undeveloped area with biodiversity that continues to amaze us. The closest village is a fishing and surf town 5 minutes away and has about 1500 people. If this piques your interest, please let us know and we can share some more information. Suerte amigos

My name is Tyler Carlson, I am 21 years old. However, I have been vigorously involved in permaculture design for over 3 years of my life. My training and experiences in permaculture have taken me to a variety of ecosystems. My most beneficial training has been on the big island of Hawaii, where I have lived and worked for 2 years on a large variety of projects. Some of which include; family and commercial farms, botanical gardens, native reforestation, educational institutes, gorilla operations, and fully functional eco-communities. My expertise includes extensive knowledge of tropical agro-forestry systems with a emphasis on Polynesian crops. Although I am young man my abilities and skills are impressive.
