As it’s becoming increasingly difficult to meet anyone that isn’t obsessed with consumerism, consumption, material objects and notoriety, I’m going to see if maybe this will bring more prosperity in 2022.
My name is Cam. I am starting a new homestead on 21 acres in central Vermont. My best friend of 20 years and I will be running a farm, orchard, wedding venue and retreat center. Intentional community based. I will be relocating from the west coast, as It has become increasingly less sustainable over the years. Wildfires, drought, you name it. Ive been a wildland fire fighter for the past four years, and it has gotten worse every year. The majority of wildfires in drought continue to be west of the Rocky Mountains.
I’m looking for a partner that is really committed to Homesteading and permaculture. I’m seeking to live a very minimalist lifestyle. Our entire venture will eventually be Off-grid and self sufficient. I am a Survivalist by nature. Veteran of the US Marine Corps, combat vet, weapons expert & at home in the great Outdoors. I’ve lived in cities with millions of people and small communities off the map. I much prefer quiet and solitude.
As someone who used to be a cog in the wheel of imperialism, decolonization of your mind is a requirement. We’re talking:
Smash Capitalism - Free Palestine - Social Justice
Black Lives Matter - Anti-Racist - ACAB
Land Back - Extinction Rebellion - Antifa
If that doesn’t resonate, I don’t think we will either.
I’m a well traveled Adventurer. A dedicated Buddhist and Yogi. I have spent most of my life as an Artist & Musician when not acting as a community organizer or SJ advocate. I went to college after the military as a physics major with a scholarship from NASA, but ultimately left academics due to unforeseen circumstances. I’m a jack-of-all-trades type of guy.
I’m currently raising my 2 young children from a previous marriage, but I am open to adding more to the brood. In that case it’s homeschooling and unschooling.
I’m also a licensed falconer and a bird enthusiast. I keep raptors, pigeons, waterfowl and exotics.
You are a very special soul. I can tell these things; your eyes say it all, very kind.
You are denouncing the insanity that is consumerism. YOU GROW BOY! Now that is a pandemic, people sick with materialism. Good for you, great introduction, I really enjoy knowing that there are likeminded people in this reality. If one can care for the land and regain connection to Gaia, to one another, to our true essence, then those will be the ones who will not be sick with wanting and complaining. Embracing the eb and flow, feeling the primal pulses of form and vibration, listening to whispers of our ancestors is what our human family needs to heal our hearts and free our spirits (it's a bit too noisy in Babylon to hear or feel much of anything). Vermont is a dream place to be, be loved, be steadfast, and be ok with getting in way over your head at times too. I am in my 8th year of "homesteading" and really, I am assured more than ever that I work for the animals here, not the other way around. Chicken Zen meditation in the morning, followed by goat comedy is worth all of the hard work. A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, the endeavor of a permaculture homestead starts with shovels and sore muscles! The burn is good!
P.S. I also want to add your lovely to look at (wink).
