Work/Trades for the 2022 Summer Events

rocket oven cooking, wood burning, natural building, permaculture

Thinking about coming to one or more events at Wheaton Labs, but you'd like more knowledge and experience under your belt before your chosen event(s)...and you'd like to save a little cash? A work trade through the Permaculture Bootcamp might be just the ticket!

Permaculture Bootcamp is a way to learn permaculture and homesteading skills by doing epic to make things even better at Wheaton Labs for Boots.

How Many Weeks?

8 weeks in the bootcamp in exchange for a ticket to one event
13 weeks in the bootcamp in exchange for two events
17 weeks in the bootcamp in exchange for three events

The Events

Permaculture Design Course (PDC) Taught by Alan Booker, this PDC assumes that the student is desiring a course with a bit more substance and grit. This PDC is designed for scientists, engineers, educators or people with a lot of current knowledge of permaculture. If you're looking for an in-depth PDC, look no further!

Permaculture Technology Jamboree (PTJ) The Permaculture Technology Jamboree is a place for both inovators and those that want to learn from them. There will be collaboration, experimentation and innovation to move permaculture technology forward. In addition, there will be experiences for people new to permaculture technology who want to build homesteading skills.

SKills to Inherit Property (SKIP) SKIP is a curriculum of experiences you can complete to prove you can do permaculture.  While a PDC  teaches you how to do permaculture design and analysis, SKIP is hands-on.  You are learning through the process of creating something useful and tangible.

    PTJ: May 1 or sooner

    SKIP: May 15 or sooner

    PDC+PTJ:  March 13 or sooner

    PTJ+SKIP: March 27 or sooner

How to Join

To get in on the work trade, you gotta fork over $100 - unless you have already been here for anything in the past.   In which case, the work trade is entirely free.    And then there is the part where the bootcamp has a waiting list.  So to do the work trade, you need to get on the waiting list and then get selected.   This means that you might want to put in your time in the bootcamp this year so you can attend events next year.
