Not Single. Happily married with a youngin'. but as the farm grows we are looking for some help from a permie like minded individual.
Own about 15 acres of organic goodness; dryland orchards of specialty crops, pond, forest, meadow, springs, small livestock in a not so out of the way part of north Idaho.
Looking for a single woman (one kid in tow potential) to essentially become part of the family; meaning you would live with us, eat with us (not vegan), work together. equal share in all endeavors. Personal space would be granted. Personal expenses could be arranged. Excellent water supply and in house toilets and hot water showers :)  Personal bedroom available. I'm 40yo, wife 47. kiddo not yet a teen. We homeschool.
Women only please.
I am looking at a couple options at the moment... joining an engineering firm and/or creating a permaculture business along with forming our land into a working permaculture demonstration project. Leaning towards the latter without the engineering work, but still, work needs to get done around the farm either way and, if I'm out, I'd like my wife to have a companion around that we both can trust. No other ...how to put, "obligations" are expected.
Lots of projects going on, and a few more in the hopper (to make an understatement). working towards self sustainability.
We are financially secure, physically and psychologically fit. fiscally responsible. no drama. eat good food, work hard, but it's not all work. plenty of time to relax or run around or take river trips, hike, ski out the backdoor, whatnot.
Christian but not religious. much rather spend time in the forest with the nature spirits and ancestors and talk with the creator directly. We have an interesting take on crazy aunt rona, which might be a kicker. We enjoy conversations of philosophy and literature (thoreau to azimov) good music (stravinski to beastie boys, everything in between...eric dolphy)
Clearly, some conversations need to be started. email, phone call, visits, etc..
Send a note if interested. email gmail is best which should be in my profile note. If you're really interested, you can search my posts on permies.
best regards.
Patrick

I decided to put together a not so exhaustive "projects list"
If this sounds like fun send a note....
Projects going on...
- expanding annual garden area. will soon be turning new garden beds into (what my daughter calls) "kinder hugle"... basically 3 ft tall half buried huglekulture.
- turning one part of the property into a food/berry forest with kinderhugles
- working on finishing the 300ft wattle fence as sheep exclosure/start to a living hedgerow fence.
- potential for a new "pond" more of a temporary detention dam for wetland creation.
- we shear our own sheep, small flock... so some sheep wrangling, potential for wool processing
- also butcher our our animals (sheep and chickens)
- some forestry work, running chainsaw, mostly thinning the forest areas and utilizing the products on site.
- have about 10-15 6ft tall "wild cherry" trees that I'll be grafting good fruit wood onto this spring.
- re-working chimneys in hopes to incorporate a rocket mass heater.
...I could go on...
that's just on our property... the business thing opens a heck of a lot more work ;)

Let's get him boys! We'll make him read this tiny ad!
