To visit the Kickstarter, click here.

A lot of people are buying gifts for others at this time of year, and I was thinking about making some free printable cards to give out to my Kickstarter supporters, so that they're able to order books from the Kickstarter to give as gifts, and have something nice to hand over to let the recipient know that they'll be receiving one of the first print run of the book.

If you were going to give a card that talks about the book as a special gift that will arrive later, what would you want to to say?

Some ideas might involve a card that would have blank space at the top so that the giver could write whichever name and greeting they'd prefer, then below it:

A gift of food...

You will receive one of the first print run of A Year in an Off-Grid Kitchen

This cookbook follows the seasons with over 100 homestead-friendly recipes and kitchen skills to learn.

A gift of resilience...

After the crazy year we've had, I thought you might like this book full of kitchen skills and local food recipes for a resilient future.

A Year in an Off-Grid Kitchen follows the seasons with skills to learn and recipes to make. You will receive one of the first ever copies of this special book.

A gift of homesteading...

You can learn forgotten homestead kitchen skills with A Year in an Off-Grid Kitchen.

You will receive one of the first ever copies of this special book.

Does anyone have other ideas for what would make a good gift card?

It's easy for me to create several different options for backers to choose from.

Gift card idea draft.

Does anyone have any feedback that might improve it?

It's 6x4" in size, including the blank spaces at the top and bottom to write greetings and sign.

I might create another one that doesn't have the blank space, so that the image is larger and people can tuck it into a card if they want.

I like both of those. Perhaps you could add another wording option...

I have ordered you a special early copy of A Year in an Off-grid Kitchen just for you. Santa's elves decided to remove the manuscript from production and test all the recipes for themselves. The plant manager just discovered where the wonderful new lunch menu has been coming from. The head elf assures me that Santa fully approves of the recipes. After a long investigation and a new training seminar detailing how inappropriate this behavior was, your book is now back in line for printing, however, it is not expected to be shipped out until March 2021. This most excellent book has over 100 real food recipes, with homestead kitchen skills to learn and perfect throughout the seasons. You will be one of the very first people to receive this unique book.

Or something like that. There are chunky spots.

My plan, on receiving the books, was to send one to each of our 4 adult children and write...

"This is the book I would write if I was going to write a book." ...but I guess that's not a general enough comment. Lol

I like either of the wording options you have come up with.
