I went to the Tractor Supply a few days ago, and a box of ducks somehow managed to find itself in my shopping cart...

Very cute, but VERY messy! I hatched and raised both of my geese but, since these were already a few days old when I got them they haven't imprinted like the goslings did, so they're a bit more skittish.
Right now they're in my guest bathroom, using a tote as a brooder with a heat lamp clamped to the towel rack. I've been running a few inches of water in the tub and letting them have "bath and splash" time every day while I clean out the tote that they manage to completely soil in under 24 hours. Now, it seems like they're already outgrowing their tote, so will probably move to a larger brooder in the rabbit barn this weekend.
Hopefully I can have them fairly tame by the time they feather out. Lately I've been bribing with immature sweet peas and mealworms, and if I can get them to trust me enough, we'll start learning how to hunt slugs and snails in the gardens. 🤞

If you have access to lemna "duckweed" I've found it a great bribe with Noisy Ducks (any breed that goes "quack"). Mine need to be introduced to it tomorrow, but things have been rather busy this week!

Seven week old English angoras.  They will all have "V" names this year, hopefully "V" for Vaccine and not only "V" for virus.

Same babies at four days old.  The pink one will become white.

Six week old babies from a different litter.
