Permies in Central PA?

I just read a thread started by a woman who is down for starting The Dream near Ashville, NC, and someone advised her to make connections with like-minded folk out there.  With that in mind:

My DH and I are looking to move in the next year to another house, in Central PA.  Dreaming of several acres, we may have to settle for 1/4 acre due to cost.  We are 59 and so maybe my dream of several acres is unrealistic anyway.  But I want a huge garden, and chickens (I'm allergic to chicken eggs, but I hear the birds are great at keeping the ticks under control....).
Anyhoo, does  anyone live in this area?  I'm near Harrisburg now, and due to his job, we will be staying within a reasonable commuting distance.

Hi Emilie, I'm new to all this, but I'm in NW PA, but the SE corner, maybe - Cooksburg, PA.  How far afield from Harrisburg are you looking?

Yes, still in Hershey; the pandemic changed our plans by changing the housing market.  But we're definitely still interested in moving, perhaps toward Lebanon.

Are you in the area?

I'm north of you, just off Rt39 past the truckstops.

Do you have any livestock? I was thinking about getting pigs.

We live in Derry township, and livestock is a no-no in most of it.  So, not currently.

That sucks (Derry twp.) I'm in West Hanover on 6 acers up against I-81.
