I'm intrigued by iridology, I think it's another way our bodies can inform us of different aspects of our health. I've never been to an iridologist, but I'm curious if there are any other members of the permies community that have, if it helped in some way, or if someone just even casually noticed changes in their own eyes over the years, maybe even looking at a chart and doing armchair iridology for fun.

Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram's eyes are going from green to blue.  She has info about it on youtube and there are pictures on the internet of it.  There are others who have/are experiencing the same, but I'm not recalling them at the moment.

I first heard of iridology while listening to Dr. Morse.  He has lots of before and afters in his videos.....but I don't know if there are any specific videos on it?

My eye doctor tried to explain this to me.  He says that part of his job is to track how my eyes change because a lot of health issues in other parts of the body, show up in the eyes first.  They take a photo of the eye (outside and inside) and track any changes over the years.  Some of the things they look for came from Iridology.

But to be honest, by that time I was sick of telling him if number one or number two looked clearer - they look the SAME! - so I kind of zoned out when he was explaining what iridology is.

I both have done it on others, and had it done on me. I don't consider it a diagnosis, but it does tell you which areas to look at in more depth.  I use it on animals too, I can see things that a cat or dog can't tell you about. It's a useful tool for figuring out where to look at deeper.

I have some really intense health issues, and I can usually track the worst issues in my eyes. Helps me not miss things that I need to be watching. It's interesting stuff.

And I agree with that eye doctor saying that changes in the eyes often precede changes in the rest of the body, I know Naturopaths who always check eyes first, and note it, so things can be worked with before they get horribly bad. It's always hard to prove a negative, but early intervention might prevent worse problems ahead.

For what it's worth, an iridology chart I consider a good one, and I was trained in this. Looks a lot like the one I had on the wall of my office. Too big to be read at the size I can make it here, so I'll show the picture, and give a link to the full size.
