So, normally I would post something like this in one of the regional forums. This one, however, is national.
The much-anticipated notice inviting applications for USDA Rural Development's REAP (Rural Energy for America Program) was published on April 25, 2010 with a deadline of June 30th. REAP provides grants for energy audits and renewable energy development assistance as well as funds for the purchase of renewable energy or energy efficiency equipment. The program is designed to assist farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses that are able to demonstrate financial need. REAP grants and guarantees may be used individually or in combination. Together they may finance up to 75% of a project's cost. Applications requesting less than $20,000 in assistance are highly favored, and are able to use a simplified application. Northwest SEED has a proven track record of preparing successful REAP applications for our clients. The federal grant process can be confusing and requires a significant amount of technical knowledge. Contact us today to learn more about how we can assist you to fund your clean energy project!
The "Contact us" link and Northwest Seed are NW/Seattle/Washington, though here, I found the national REAP link: http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/rbs/busp/9006grant.htm. Looks like up to 25% of the project can be refunded. Not quite as cool as I first thought, but still, nothing to sneeze at!
