My landlady is looking for some enthusiastic organic farmers for her property in eastern WA - 1930's 3 bdr / 2 ba farm house on 6,000 acres of land in Eastern Washington, 5 miles south of Kahlotus, WA off HWY 21 Only 5-6 acres surrounding the farm house is available for farming as the balance of the acreage is enrolled in a conservation program. Corral & chicken coop on property - chicken coop needs restoration. $600/month, 1 yr lease - first three months free rent to assist in start up costs.

Perfect for a couple who is wanting to get out of the city and grow their own food and small scale live stock (we have acreage for running cattle if someone wanted to do organic beef). This couple, however, needs to be resourceful and mechanical because that is the life of a farmer! Though we also have a foreman who could assist with the more complicated things.

Are there any water rights associated with the property? That is a very dry region.

I believe that there are indeed water rights, given that this farm has been in the same family's name for a century. You should contact, Bellini (her email is at the end of the original post) if you are interested in learning more.

Thank you for that update. That could be a big factor in that region.
I would assume that if the family has owned it for that long, they would have resolved that issue decades ago.

I'm on my way to the Northwest coast from Valley City, North Dakota for an exploratory adventure looking for farms sustainable lifestyles & hopefully help on or start up a community of my own... Due to medical reasons (Meningitis/brain damage) I've decided on Washington until the fools on capital hill change the Marijuana laws for good... I grew up in a TINY (less than 25 house) village here in ND & from a big family farm that's had all kinds of different animals & garden crops along with the wheat crops...I've had my share of experience you could say...

Say hello if you think we could maybe create something beautiful together...

If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astonish ourselves.
