I am a student from Bosnia and Herzagovina that is struggling to achieve anything permacultural in this country of mine. I have a fenced land that is reserved as a permaculture experimental lab. I precisely measured it a couple of days ago and drew a map of it by triangulating points. I would love to transform it into a place of spiritual peace and diversified greenery.
The problem is that I don't have any particular knowledge about native plants nor this Balcan region has many edible fruit trees. At least I can't name more than 10 of them. This book would help me a lot and I wouldn't even bother writing this post if I had a chance to buy it. Nearly all web shops and pages don't allow shipping to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
PS: If anyone is willing to take a look on my drawn map and to sketch basic layout on it I would be super duper pleased. PM me if you want to.
Balkan region is quite rich in native edible plants. You just need a good manual to start with. Check:
Ljubisa Grlic: Enciklopedija samoniklog jestivog bilja (have this one)
Biljke planina Bosne i Hecegovine
You'll find hundreds of wild fruits, edible greens etc. Once you see plants on those photos, you'll start to notice them in nature. Then you read again description of interesting plant again and find out how you can use it in permaculture design. But before that you would probably have to learn permaculture design, especialy designing edible forests. When you combine this 2, you can create your own design that will work perfectly for your needs.
