I like this video from the post carbon institute. It has a terrible title. But it does a great job of making the point that there isn't a magic bullet that will keep our energy-pig society running just by switching to alternative technologies. It ties together the threads of resource scarcity, energy, climate change, and economic systems that demand growth....how we got where we are, and where it's going. If you've got the time I highly recommend it. It came to to mind after reading a good post today that quantified the manure equivalent (in pounds, to convert to biogas) of a gallon of gasoline.

This doesn't have to be a bad thing, but I think it's important to start thinking about how we live on the far side of the curve in a time of energy descent.

It's rare for a presentation to be concise, mostly factual, and entertaining at the same time. It seems this video pulled it off.
