I wrote a document called Subtropical Mulch Plants for Permaculture and Agroforestry. The focus was on creating permaculture guilds with perennial plants that can be chop and dropped, are living ground covers, or produce a lot of leaf litter. All of the plants uses are also listed, and they are broken down into several different categories.

Thank you Alan for your feedback. Some of these plants may benefit you in central fl, however the more tropical ones wouldn't be treated as perennials.
