Does anyone grow sorghum? I was interested to learn that you can make sorghum molasses. Does anyone do that or have any experience to share?

I've grown small amounts, had an issue with fungus on the grain but the plants live for 2 years or more. Temperatures below 13C at night will reduce yields.

Diversified Food forest maker . Fill every niche and you'll have less weeds (the weeds are the crop too). Fruit, greens, wild harvest, and nuts as staple. Food processing and preservation are key to self self-sufficiency. Never eat a plant without posetive identification and/or consulting an expert.

We grew quite a bit of forage sorghum last year. Produces well, great for livestock and the stalks were sweet when I bit into them. No experience making molasses but I have done some research on the subject. There are presses driven by PTO and the resulting pulp is great animal fodder.

PTO ? That's what I write at the end of a page when it isn't obvious one has to turn the page over - Please Turn Over. But that doesn't make sense here

PTO - Power Take Off
On my tractor it's a spinny thing on the back of the tractor that you fit equipment onto. Older tractors might have a pulley system.

LOL. I'm sorry but the PTO thing is just so funny. Everyone should read it.
