I live on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and have been steadyplanting native fruits & herbs as well as vegetables and fruits that do well in our area throughout our small yard [such as strawberries, radishes, & loquats].

I've read about Jerusalem Artichokes on this great forum as well as a few other places and have decided that they would be great for my environment especially because I need a bit of a windbreak/shade in the front.

If would love to get a hold of some tubers [or seeds?] if anyone personally has some or knows a respectable company to buy some from

Also if you may have any recommendations of plants I should grow here I would most appreciate it.

Shailor,

I have a bazillion of these. They are excellent plants. Mine spread like a hedge where I let them.

I can't send you any because of the boarder but I got mine by going to a grocery store. I bought some and put them in the ground, that was several years ago.

Awesome. I appreciate the response.

I'm going to have to check out the nearest health food store. I haven't seen any at the local grocery stores but I'll double check.

Thanks

Whole Foods carry them or you can get them off E-Bay as well.

I saw them at the local safeway today. They were all green and sprouting. There were about 4 to 5 per pack at $4.99 each.
