I'm new to posting here, but have been following the site for some time. I'm only using my Droid phone to post because I'm off grid. I'd like to post some pics of hugel beds but am having issue with uploading to Picasa. Does anyone know of a site that I might use so I can link to a url and get them up on this site?
Data plans and the size of this phone as a browser make this simple task a bummer.
By the way I'm just starting in on shaping our 20 acre lot to suit our permie needs. Orchard, vegies, pigs, chickens, etc. I'd like to share the our progress with the site.
Your help in this silly matter is appreciated.
Jim L Tehachapi CA 4500 feet zone 9 sort of. Sandy soil, 12 in. Rain Avg. 3 month going season.
CA, Southern Sierras, alt. 4550 feet, zone 9ish. (still figuring it out), 3 mo. grow season. Regular wind to 20 mph. SANDY soil with scrub oak, pine, and juniper. 2 seasonal creeks.

Yes but when I push it it asks for a url. I just figure I need to upload to something like Picasa and use "it" as a url... keep in mind that it took me some time to figure out that I was seeing a mobile version and had no opportunity to attach at all. Then I found the full site link. But there is where I found I needed a url. Hope this makes sense to you.
Kind of sucks being on a phone but this is what I have for now. I'll deal with it.

Paul, I listen to hours of your podcasts each week as I drive and know you have a sense of humor. You wrote "This is what I see." Is this Paul humor, or did something not show up on my end.
By the way loved the Erie and Eric RMH podcast. The info will help soon.
Do you mind taking a look at my question about a tree in a hugle bed over on that thread? I don't have time or money to waste on a mistake. Thanks

Paul, right now on this page (mobile version) there is not an attachment button. I have to go to the bottom, use the link to go to the main page then when I push the attachment button I get a url request.
I think the key is that you are using the mobile version.
The mobile version is Jeanne's baby - she'll probably spot this tonight, but I'll try to draw her attention just to make sure.

Jim,
I've added this to our "to do" list of features. It's not going to be right away (takes time to get to head of queue and then do and then deploy.) But it's coming. This actually hadn't come up before because up until recently the forums were only used for programmers. And we don't take pictures of code with our phones! I can see it being useful for our miscellaneous forum too though so definitely a feature both sites could use.
Do you know by chance if pictures themselves show up in the mobile view? I could look it up, but you seem like someone who would already know .

Jeannie, good question! I do get some pics but not all of them. I'll look for an example of one that is missing and point it out to you. Thanks for your help here.

Hmm. That wasn't the answer I was expecting. Giving an example would certainly expedite a potential fix. (If the reason a pic is missing is because it's 2000x2000 pixels, I'm not fixing it. .
I should also mention that my name is Jeanne. I don't like to be called Jeannie. Only one letter different, I know!

Oops! Sorry my Aunts name is spelled that way. Won't happen again.
Still looking for some examples. Some of them were Paul's posts. Not seeing them yet. Viewing on a phone is cumbersome at best.

Here is a url to a post that I don't see a graphic or photo. Not sure what you see. On my end. Text but nothing else.

Hi Jeanne,
Here is a link that on my end at least does not show up with pictures. http://www.permies.com/t/12539/stoves/RMH-Suspended-Wood-Floor First post he refers to pics. Then later on Feb 10th I think. Same day Eric mentions tidy work...
I see nothing on the mobile version. Don't know if this helps or not.
Best,
Jim

Jim,
I clearly see the pictures not getting displayed. Need to look for one where the pictures *do* get displayed.

Hi Jeanne
My mistake I thought you were looking for one that didn't have pics. So here is one that does have them. Hope this is helpful. By the way it shoes up on both the mobile and full website version on this phone. An HTC inspire. Droid.
