Beautiful work. I used to make salad bowls out of piece of wood like he used. I haven't done that in years. It never occurred to me to make a lampshade like that though. Really delicate work like this demonstrates the necessary patience needed in most precision wood working. That is a lot of wasted wood for one lampshade.

Please before you write a negative comment about the waste of wood, please realize , this is fast growing pine, it had already been cut down to be used as firewood, the centre of the log is sap wood and is very poor quality, and all the wood chips are reused in another way, for heating, or in the garden.
