We have loads of sprouts still in the ground and yesterday I found a great way of using some of them up.
This is a good recipe if you are short on time as the whole thing takes about 10 minutes to prepare and cook.
You will need
Some oil or butter or both
1 Onion finely chopped
1 Clove of Garlic squished
Couple of hands full of sprouts finely chopped if raw or smashed up if cooked
A stock cube (Chicken or veg) I didn't have this so I used a big teaspoon of Miso.
Black pepper.
Cool, no measuring.
Fry the onion and garlic in a good sized sauce pan until soft
Add the sprouts and cover with water
Sprinkle in stock cube and season with pepper
Bring to the boil, simmer for 3 to 4 minutes
Blend
Eat

Sounds pretty good, I'd have to add bacon.
I am reminded of a tenant I once had-from time to time she would bring over a bowl of Big Soup. I called it Big Soup because everything in it was huge. A third of an ear of corn, entire carrots, potato chunks, pork ribs-with the bone. It was always a fine meal.
Whole brussels sprouts would go perfectly with that Big Soup.

I am loving this! I planted 12 Brussel Sprout plants this year so I am sure this recipe will come in handy!
