I found this website by chance while using StubleUpon and am totally happy! The chapter I found most useful was the lawn care one. Thank you! And now I come to the forum and to my surprise, find it to be powered by SMF! I'm part of the SMF team, so I'm double happy now. He he. cheesy

Great site! Found it looking for a sourdough recipe and found a good one. The cast iron thread is a plus also. I have about 200 pieces in my collection. Looking forward to reading about the lawn care also. Jim

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I found this sight through one of my favorite homesteading forums. I just jumped in & started posting!

We live over on the east coast in the mountains of NC. We have been striving to live a simple basic life. We have a organic garden that gets bigger every year. This year we finally got our first chickens. That's been a lot of fun & a learning experience.

I hope to learn a lot here. I hope I have some knowledge that I can pass on too.

Me too! I just found this site too this weekend - what a great resource of information!

I live in Illinois just 40 miles west of Chicago. I am very interested in permaculture and sustainable living but just beginning to learn. I started raising bees last year and have always had an interested in indigenous plants. Planted clover in my lawn this year - not certain my neighbors think that is as cool as I do yet but maybe they will eventually. Read Toby Hemenways book earlier this year and thought - what a great idea! Why doesn't everyone start doing this?

As I live in the Midwest where change comes slower than the coasts, it will take us a little longer to come around. I will do my best to help that along. grin
