This Year's Keynote Presenters
Tom Casten Saturday, August 9, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Chairman and CEO of Americas Power Partners, Hinsdale, IL. From 1986 to 1999, he was “President and CEO of Trigen Energy Corporation whose mission was to produce electricity, heat and cooling with one-half the fossil fuel and one-half the pollution of conventional generation.” He focuses on decentralized heat and power cogeneration projects.
Leslie Garrett, Sunday, August 10, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. “The Virtuous Consumer,” Toronto, Canada, focuses on on the necessity of all of us to move to more sustainable lifestyles and how we can achieve that in ways large and small. She and her husband currently purchase "green" energy, and are considering moving their home over to solar and wind.
Kamyar Enshayan, Sunday, August 10, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Adjunct Professor at Northern Iowa University, Director of the University of Northern Iowa’s Local Food Project and 4th Ward Alderman, Cedar Falls, Iowa, As a result of his program, between 1998 and 2001, nine institutions and restaurants have spent nearly $600,000 on locally produced food rather than send the money out of the community.
