The Washington Department of Agriculture has kicked off a longterm planning project to figure out how they can keep Washington Agriculture profitable over the next 20 years. They're recognizing a number of risk factors associated with local farming (start-up costs, weather risks, energy needs, etc) and want to put together a plan to keep Washington Agriculture as healthy as possible.

Obviously, in combination with their environmental goals, they are also looking for suggestions on how to reduce the emissions story around farms.

They're doing a listening tour, but they also have a brief online survey asking what your vision of the Future of Farming in Washington looks like. Seems like a neat opportunity to make your voice heard if you have an opinion on the subject.

Related content and informative website for ATTRA-National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service sort of fuses standard agriculture concerns with sustainable agriculture concerns.
