warm season grasses

I tried tall fescue, it doesn't compete well in SC, even in my shaded back yard next to a stream. Anyone suggestions for warm season grasses?

I've never lived where there wasn't frost, so I'm really wimpy at this, but I've heard a lot of good things about bermuda grass.
