Talks a lot about roadsite uses (instead of other means) for fertilization, pest control, and erosion control...and how cost-effective it is. Also mentions just how peachy it is for home use.

Speaking of compost:
Is there a bad time to topdress a thin layer? I heard of people topdressing 4-5 times a year, just giving enough time for the compost to "work in." Some guides even suggesting winter (maybe for warm season grasses?).

Put it down just when the grass is about to start doing a lot of growing.
Winter is good for those places where the grass would grow a lot in the winter.
