You are all invited to a work party at the Meadowbrook Edible Arboretum tomorrow morning, Wednesday the 19th.  We'll be meeting from 9 a.m. till noon.  The Arboretum is a small strip of about 25 species of fruit trees which was planted by volunteers several years ago.  It has been abandoned for three years and needs some loving care.  We will mostly be removing blackberry, thistle, nightshade, and other invasives.  The Seattle parks department has been kind enough to provide us with tools and a city gardener will be there to help us get started.  All you need to bring is a long-sleeved shirt to protect yourself from blackberry scrapes.  If you like elderberries, you might also bring a container to gather some fruit while you're there!

The Meadowbrook Arboretum is located at NE 105th St. and 32nd Ave. NE in Seattle.

I know this is a last-minute post.  I sent out an e-mail to the people on the foraging list a while ago, but didn't think to post a message here as well.  I hope some of you will be able to come anyway!

If you have any questions, please e-mail me at lanieruth@gmail.com.  You could also e-mail me if you'd like to be put on the e-mail list for future foraging activities.
