Hi everyone!

Just a quick hello and short intro that I hope to expand upon when time allows.

I've always been fascinated with living off the land and primitive skills etc. since I was a kid, and luckily I have had the chance to full fill some of those notions mainly because of the family cottage. My Papa back in the day bought an old lumber mill and converted it into a resort, and when times got tough he sold the lots/buildings to friends and family. We are in the final stages of finishing a new cottage (I was quite young when we started building, so there was no voice for renewables or low-impact options) and I am hoping to finish off my room with some natural materials, and hope to use it as a leaping off point for other projects.

I have currently returned to school to earn some kind of biology/ecology degree, but used to work in Ecotourism and have a Graphic Design Diploma. Anyways, that's all I got for now!

Welcome to the forums Northern. Sorry for such a late reply but I hope this is a case of better late than never. I'm finally getting more time to put towards these forums now that the season is slowing down, and I just saw your posting
