Looks pretty enough, but no thermal mass to speak of and no insulation means that thing is likely hot as hell in the summer and equally cold in the winter. A real freeze-or-fry, as they say.
Now, the giant passive solar one I'm building is less magazine-worthy, but likely to be much more comfortable... and you'd better believe I'm keeping a hammock set up in there once it's done.

I would guess recently. The picture is from a fancy-pants home design/decor concern. I'd imagine it's just there to look cool and retro, as opposed to being truly functional.

Might be a bit colder depending where your located, but if it increases you zone of hardiness by even one that's worth it to some people. I have a green house smaller than this one but no glass just plastic. We use it to grow peppers in summer and various cold hardy crops in winter.
