Some Basic Knowledge of Angle Iron

It is known that steel is used in our production and life widely, in modern society, steel, with its low price and reliable performance as one of the world's most commonly used materials, construction, manufacturing, and an integral part of daily life components. Can say that steel is the material basis of modern society. According to different classification criteria, the steel can be divided into many different types, like by shape, there are steel pipe, steel sheet, angle iron, flat bar, etc.

Although steel plays a so important role in modern life, most people know a little about steel some common knowledge. According to the strict definition, steel is defined as: iron as the main element, the carbon content is generally below 2%, and contains other elements of the material. Generally speaking, except the main elements of steel---iron and carbon, there are silicon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus, and other ingredients to make the steel properties differ.

There are many different kinds of steel by different standard, but now we will talk about a kind of special steel---Angle Iron.
Wha t is the angle iron?
Angle iron is called angle steel, and it is perpendicular to both sides of the long steel angle. There equilateral angle steel and unequal angle of the points. Equilateral angle width equal to two sides. The specifications to side edge width × width × thickness of a few millimeters said. And angle iron according to the different needs of the structure composed of various components of the force, but also can be used for connections between components.

The use of angle iron
Because angle iron is constructed of carbon steel, is a simple cross-section of the steel steel, mainly used in metal structures and plant frameworks. In use require good weldability, deformation properties and good mechanical strength. In additon, angle is widely used in various building structures and engineering structures such as beams, bridges, transmission towers, lifting and transport machinery, ships, industrial furnace, reaction tower, racks and storage containers, etc.

About angle steel prices and import and export

Nowadays, some countries in addtion to import some large steel from Japan or Western Europe, more and more countries begin to import all kinds of small angle steel, medium iron steel and special shape angle iron from China Steel Manufacturers. Because there are many famous China Steel Mills can provide high quality angle steel products with proper prices. Especially, the angle iron prices is always keeping the stable level although the economy of world is many instable factors.

Seeking volunteers for new project in beautiful Bali!

Volunteers sought to help set up new "live and learn" permaculture project to serve as a model sustainable farm in a beautiful but ecologically challenged area of Bali.

We have located a stunningly beautiful but ecologically/agriculturally depleted area of Bali, on the Bukit Peninsula, which is badly in need of restoration. We're looking for volunteers to come and help us commence this new permaculture project starting from scratch, from disused, trampled dry earth up! Anyone up for a real challenge?

With the entire area sadly earmarked for mainly large scale, inappropriate and destructive tourism development, farming families are gradually being squeezed out of their traditional lands. Many are abandoning traditional farming lifestyles to take up tourism & hospitality jobs, and eventually into more materialistic (and too-often debt-funded) lifestyles. A main aim of our project is to demonstrate the continued viability of traditional family farming, using sustainable, permaculture-based methods, to provide locals with the choice to remain on their lands, and in doing so, to preserve this unique and ecologically fragile corner of the amazing Bukit Peninsula for future generations of Balinese.

Aiming to partner with a local farming family with disused, unproductive land (lots of it here), convert it into a productive family farm and hand it back to them, over a 5 year period. We are currently identifying suitable candidate families and lands, with the project due to commence in mid April 2012.

This is a completely non-profit, self funding, community-based project, that will exist solely on the limited funds typically available to a local farming family, to ensure that it is truly viable for other low income Balinese farmers to adopt the model we create. So we'll be practising and demonstrating only permaculture-based, sustainable farming practises that are appropriate to the socio economic level of typical Balinese farmers.

We have a dire shortage of permaculture volunteers here in Bali. We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers who'd like a challenge, ready to learn by doing, level of experience not important (though we'd love the input of some highly experienced Permaculture teachers too). Be prepared to self fund. As a guide, your financial contribution should not exceed what you would otherwise spend on rent in a cheap surfie dive!

This is a beautiful part of Asia, literally a stone's throw from the most amazing, unspoilt, undeveloped white sand beaches in Bali. But the development pressure is on, and we need to help the locals find alternatives to selling out their land to more hotels, villas, housing estates and roads. Will you come and help us?

Please see our Project Profile at http://www.permacultureglobal.com/projects/873-bukit-peninsula-sustainability-project for more information and contacts.

Any other permie-gaijin in Japan?

Hey folks,

I'm living in Aioi, Hyogo prefecture. Been here about 3 months. Landed a job, so I'll be here for at least a year - trying to establish a network with some permie-minded people. I've met some great Japanese farmers through WWOOFing, but the general populace in the urban area where I live is pretty content to get their nutrients from the local grocery corporations. As I make slow progress with the language, I'm desperate to uncover some information regarding fresh local produce and how to get my hands on it. I'd also like to set up an army of containers for some vegetables for my building, but locating resources is difficult. Anybody having similar problems?

Thanks,

C

National housing policy and subsequent developments in Kochi

The National Housing Policy formulated by Government of India, had among other things, emphasized in its objectives the following:
1.To motivate and help people, in particular, the houseless and the inadequately housed, to secure for themselves affordable shelters through access to land, building materials, advanced technology and finance
2.To encourage investment in housing in order to achieve a sustained growth of housing stock in the country, and its proper conservation, renovation and up gradation.
3.To create an enabling environment, by eliminating constraints and by developing an efficient and accessible system for the delivery of inputs to maximize housing efforts.
4.To improve the environment of human settlements to raise the quality of life through adequate provision for drinking water, sanitation and other basic services.

The government is now reviewing the National Housing Policy so that it could implement the concept of housing as a basic human right. The private sector is now given more freedom. Thus with respect to the developments in Apartments Kochi is charting a different course. The sincere efforts of the leading builders have helped people with medium incomes to own a roof under their head in the urban areas of the city.

Even then appropriate national housing strategies will have to be evolved and implemented linking shelter and economic development policies, restructuring the housing sector, modifying regulations on building codes, standards and materials, creating incentives to mobilize private sector and financial institutions to invest in low-income housing for the poor, and management of urban lands to enable greater access by the poor for house construction.

PDC in China

Hi everyone,

I am part of a newly fledged PDC teaching team and we're going to run a PDC in China, preferably Yunnan, sometime in May next year. There are 3 of us, Pascal, who is a diploma holder and Geoffroy and I, who are working on our diplomas, and we taught our first PDC together in Romania in September this year. Pascal and I both lived in Hunan and Yunnan for about five years and now we're looking to return, from France, to start a project together, along with Chen Li, Pascal's wife.

I'm writing this, basically, to try to make some contacts with other permies in China and also to ask if anyone knows of any suitable venues for a PDC. This would preferably be in Yunnan but we're flexible. We're particularly interested in finding a place in which the owners are looking to start, or already have started, a permaculture project or would otherwise somehow benefit from holding a course.

Any advice or contacts would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

Chinese Permaculture Resources

I've been in China for three years too long and am now starting my own permaculture wiki and forums in Chinese. To date, I can find very little permaculture information in Chinese and no specific information whatsoever.

I'm looking for some videos I can dub and add subtitles to, posting on the major Chinese video sites to spread the word. I would want to have links from the videos both to the Chinese forums and their original sources. Problem is, I can't get on YouTube or many other video sites, so I would need them on an FTP or some other form of direct download.

I'm also looking for anyone who writes Chinese and wants to spread the word about permaculture to the largest population of farmers in the world.

I'm already planning on using extensive links to available resources (such as permies.com) through google.translate, and am looking for other suggestions of how to get all the necessary information up on the (Chinese) web as fast, clear, and sanely as possible. Why rewrite the book? I just want to spread the word!

I would appreciate any kind of advice!

Thanks
Thomas

Greenwarrior training in Ubud/Bali

[s]Hello to all those doing the good work on subverting the dominant paradigm.
My name is Justin and I am part of a group of Permaculture buffs offering hands-on training as a "greenwarrior" in Bali. The training is for 3 months and is designed to get you ready to go to any natural disaster zone (except for now, the toxic deathly Fukishima one) and establish a zone 1 human habitat, food garden, water storage systems, worm systems, SRI (System of Rice Intensification), LEISA (Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture) systems and learn low tech appropriate technology.
Whilst in Bali, you will be accommodated as part of the fee we ask for.
Part of the initial training is to construct and establish a Zone 1 demonstration garden which you will eventually eat from. Also you will be involved in setting up and keeping records of a polyculture system in an existing rice field and you will also partake in other local and not-so-local projects.
You will receive daily hands-on instruction from skilled facilitators designed to push your comfort zone, bring out your area of expertise and turn you into a greenwarrior.

If interested please contact via the website: www.greenwarriorpermaculture.com

or my email: oldgrothe1@gmail.com
Cheers,
Justin Grothe
[/s]
THIS POST IS NO LONGER RELEVANT

We had good day trip to Tokyo. It is around 30 min on the train. It's famous for Bonsai. It's a very easy day trip. Omiya is nothing special - a big city connected to Tokyo. However the bonsai village is pretty, with about a dozen bonsai growers / nurseries within walking distance of each other. If you go, I'd suggest taking a cab from the station to the bonsai village. Once in the village, there are street maps pointing out where the various bonsai places.

Storage Sheds
