grin Organic grains in the Valley!! Organic grains in the valley!!!  Wow..wow...wow.  Sometimes its easy to fret that "more" needs to be done...and THEN...you look around and see just how many people recoonecting to our agricultural roots.  Yee haw....

Any way...forgive my missive..We are starting to get ready for harvest, combine has been brought over last fall, test run, she is just itching to get out and do some harvesting!! Which leads to this question.

>>> The harvesting procedure allows us to either mulch the outfall, and it goes back to the land, or if there is enough interest, we set it for straw. But that means we track down rake and baler, etc, etc.  If it was picked up in the field, minimum 40 bales, $5per bale, If we start moving them around, especially into storage, then $7-10 per bale, dependant on quantity. <<<<

Time dated question. 1 week, By Aug 1. Thanks
Go summer

ps. The Hugelkutures are already past 30' tall in 2.4year, heading for 40' this year. Second canopy...oh yeah. We have been pruning up and leaving lots of stripped branches. The bird life seems like it has doubled each year from a barren gravel field 3 yrs ago.

pssst.  who knows what can happen when we start growing grains again...
